1 boot a day?

Hey all... here's a question for ya'... How many regulars we got on dial-up here?? Reason I ask is because I wanna play a game... Get some more people frequenting in here!! [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img] But it'll depend on what you guys think.

I wanna post 1 full bootleg a day for a week or two. Those, plus what's already here means that someone could start their collection Right Here, Right Now ( [img]images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif[/img]) with 10-20 boots. [img]images/smilies/rock.gif[/img]Do you guys think we can all handle pulling one show off per day?? Maybe every other day?? I want most everyone to be able to get them, but I want to keep them pretty rapid fire.

What do you guys think?? Feedback please!

I'm hoping everyone can! [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img] It's the dial up users that I'm mostly concerned with. But even at that, once a big group of us have the boots, they could be reposted at any time by any number of people, instead of just one person who is limited on space. I just figure it's a good way to put everyone on some common ground. Establish a good base of boots to start with for those who are just trying to start a collection. I remember the first time I saw someone sharing VH boots... blew my mind. I just love the mental picture I get of the people on the other end. When people are downloading a boot that I have posted, I just put myself in their shoes, cuz I'm like a kid in a candy store when I get a new boot. If someone who's d/ling feels half of what I do when I get a new one, then it's all worth it [img]images/smilies/icon_thumb.gif[/img]

Sounds like a great idea! Chad, like most of the guys around here, your generosity knows no bounds. We are very thankful.

I have a quick suggestion...

There are probably a few days that some people can't log on (case in point me [img]images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif[/img]). To keep people from missing boots they really want, maybe we can make out a schedule or something of the sort so they have an idea of what will be up and when?

Actually, I think that'd be a great idea. I'll wait till I get a bit more feedback, but that would probably work pretty well. Get a list worked out for a 2 week period and then go from there... I can post the shows about the same time, maybe every day or two... People can just stop back in when the new show is scheduled to be up. Perhaps Sucka would lend a hand in making sure that each new show is stuck up right away, and the other one is unstuck.

As a Dial up user it would be tough to get 1 boot a day. It usually takes me a day or 2 or more to download a full cd. I am working on getting the miracle fingers (89 Japan) boot right now. But with work during the day & the wife telling me to get off the internet it can be tough. All in all this is a great sight. I found it on Sucker's post over at vhforums. It is a great outlet to hear some mp3s that I haven't traded for or bought yet.

I have a cable hookup, but I know that I wouldnt have time to get on here everyday and download a show. It would be awesome, but too many folks would miss out on stuff.

I'm on dial-up. It's way to slow. It can take me 2-3 days to download a full boot! What a drag. [img]images/smilies/icon_doh.gif[/img] I miss lots of boots because they don't keep them posted long enough. It takes me weeks to post up a full show. Like "A.F.U." or "Hangin in the wreckage". Also no one can call me!!!! [img]images/smilies/dunno.gif[/img]

Yeah, we all kind of collectively weighed this idea out and decided it wouldn't be viable for everyone, and we don't want dial up users missing out just cuz they don't have broadband. That's ok though... if Eric can get the kinks ironed out of the Jamtothis Torrent trading idea, we'll be cookin' with all four burners. We can always keep the boot section filled up here, but we can use the torrents as a great addition to an already great site!

1 boot a day sounds awesome, but even though I'm on DSL, I would personally prefer 1 every other day, due to shifts at work, family, oh and the fact that being in the UK, there is a bit of a time difference (the boots would probably change while I was sleeping......doh!!!)!!!

You know my position mate. I rely on dial up from home and access to broad band when I can. If I could I would be a one show a day man, but I can't. I would ask for one show a week. I struggled to get 12 tunes from the Anthology last night on dial up and will try again this evening. I also have to source another broadband place as the one I was using cut me off at the knees. (sorry dude, we have taken a slower connection...) Appreciate the chance for the feedback.
