EVH solo 1978 live video
I've never seen a video as early as this... The quality kinda sucks, but it's still pretty cool. Looks like he is handed the Ibanez at the end of the solo...

Far as I’m concerned, Eddie’s the complete package. Technique aside, his rhythm playing, feel, songwriting, tone, riffs, leads, man, it’s all there. It’s like the best-tasting beer you ever drank in your life! ~Zakk Wylde

Hey Kudo thanks very much mate.
I will pencil this in this week to d/load. When you have slow dial up then you plan ahead. I am looking forward to the vision. Much appreciated and respected.

Hope you guys enjoy it! How often have you seen EVH shred up a solo with the black and white strat? That's reason enough to check it out!

God, that was amazing! Saw the same tour at Newcastle City Hall supporting Black Sabbath in '78 on the 'Never Say Die' tour. There was some shit flying about with Tony Iommi's roadies that night cos I think it was one of the opening dates or the opening date and Eddie went into 'Eruption' and all HELL broke loose behind the back-line! I can just imagine Tony Iommi thinking, 'Great, only 200 more shows with these guys opening for us!!!!
Thanks for posting. Great seeing him so young on a big stage giving it large!

How fucking unbelievable was Eddie on guitar back in the day? Jesus Christ, can you imagine going on stage and playing Paranoid after that?
On the downside, compare that to the 2004 shows. How the mighty have fallen.

That is so frickin' cool at the end when he switches guitars and goes into "You Really Got Me". I wonder how he gets that effect while standing by the amp. Time delay?? Or sound guy? You can see him hit a stomp box when he puts on the new guitar and begins to play it. Like he switched off that previous lowering effect thing with a swicth. Either that or he just kicked in the new guitar with the sound guy cutting out the delayed guitar.
