This is great! From some of the gig reviews, I feared it might be mauled by EVH - its a tricky song to pull off - wish theyd done it more often on the tour as well as Seventh Seal (which replaced LTS in the set and was butchered by ED on a some occasions!) I really like Eds sound on the 04 tour as well - better than in 98 when I thought the Wolfgang 5150 combination was a bit raspy sounding. Thanks again for reposting.
Yeah, but overall his PLAYING was MUCH stronger on the 98 tour (IMO). Dont get me wrong, he still smokes most folks, but by Eddie standards I think it was sub par last year.

I also agree. It sure seemed on 04 tour, that he was trying to throw to many odd licks in ALL over the place. For the most part it just didn't seem to work. Alot of it just sounded off and forced. It seemed he just wasn't flowing!
Also thanks for the song I was also wanting to here LTS.

Far as I’m concerned, Eddie’s the complete package. Technique aside, his rhythm playing, feel, songwriting, tone, riffs, leads, man, it’s all there. It’s like the best-tasting beer you ever drank in your life! ~Zakk Wylde
Yes, I agree, although we never saw the 3 tour in the UK, from the boots I've heard it was one of the best. The 04 tour sure was a roller coaster, just following it on the net. I dont think a tour or bands performance has ever been so closely scrutinised. With 8 years away Eds playing was bound to be down coupled with obvious gigs where he'd just had too much to drink or whatever - he says he enjoyed it after all his years of problems - but some shows some fans must have felt shortchanged I guess. The 3 tour he was out to proove things wheras the '04 tour he was out to enjoy himself I guess. I know if I don't play for a couple of months I get rusty and some songs Ed was just winging - the riff on Poundcake just before the vocals come in was never played 'right'. Plus he was experimenting as well, which given that he is the main instrument must have been hell for Mike and Al to follow sometimes. Maybe Sam should play more guitar to keep the structure of the song there when Ed is 'off on one'. Just wished I could have seen either tour though!
