The 1981 Oakland Live Tracks (ripped from the videos) - Guitars101

These are the audio portions of the well known Fairwarning/Diver Down era live videos from the taped Oakland show of 1981 (still trapped in Eddie's vault). There are three tracks total that were used as videos, I'll post the first two now.

1. Unchained

2. Hear About it Later

3. So This is Love (to be posted at a later date since I only have 10mb's to play with)

Yes, Edward Van Halen has it sitting in his vault! This is a pro-shot and recording that may have been intended to be a live movie/video release but never was.

These were essentially used as videos on MTV during the time between the FAIRWARNING tour and the DIVER DOWN eras, before the brilliant videos of 1984.

Even on the bootleg underground, only these three songs from that night are available as well as some songs from the following night in Oakland. Check my Roth Army thread and VH Long Beaches response for more info!

"So This is Love!" I took down "Hear About it Later" (the best of the three songs and videos, performance-wise, in my opinion) to post this. If anyone needs "Hear..." let me know via post or PM and I'll repost it in about a week or so.

Maybe one day this kinda stuff will see the light of day. Kinda makes me wish I was managing VH, or atleast involved with them in some capacity. Sometimes I really feel that they don't have a feel for the pulse of the fans.
