taped 'em from 2nd row, and security choked me out (not for taping) and I got the guy fired. (half of the 'conversation' and assault is on tape)

anyhow, does anyone have it?

sent a few copies on cassette out years ago, transferred it to cd about 2 years ago.

Ballsdeep - I have not seen reference to the '98 show in Alaska in the few lists of available boots circulating out there. If you got, many will appreciate you posting it. Your run in with security will only add to the Van Halen concert experience! Love the Year To The Day / Eddie's guitar solo combo!

that's the thing, is that I have no real way to upload right now (only a laptop, and SHITSLOW upload speeds)

that said, I'm diggin' shit out of storage, and if someone wants to up it, I've no problem.

do note, that from 2nd row, my 'low end' overloaded WAY bad, however, I'm somewhat of a "31 band dual EQ" whiz, and after a couple of mixes, turned a burpy, muddy tape into a somewhat listenable experience.

the JOY is that during Eddie's solo, there is NO bass, so it pretty much sounds crystal-fucking clear, he was about 9 feet from my face/mics.


have taped over 1400 hours by 200+ bands, in 30 different states, NO Dead, NO Phish, and only a few Panic shows, I'm much more of rock-based taper.

If you could provide me with a CD of the concert, I'd be happy to upload it to Rapidshare or Megaupload, thereby making it available to the Guitar 101 crowd. Then it would be available to all, and perhaps someone with a bit of skill and experience could remaster it to clean it up. If interested, please send me a private message.

From one Alaskan bro to another, glad to see ya. I moved to Az from AK 5 years ago. Grew up in Anchorage AK near muldoon/Tudor and both of my kids were born in AK. I really liked the 98 show at Sullivan Arena. Were you near that guy with the kid on his shoulders the whole show down in front? Would love to hear a show I was at. Eddie saw my 'shoes' shirt and pointed at me smiled and gave me a thumbs up from the stage, as I was off to his right right off the floor in the yello seats. I waited 3 hours downtown at the perf atrs ctr to get tix.
