Notes from the taper !:

The show was amazing. I couldn't believe how good they sounded. Also, I couldn't believe how bad our seats were. We were as far back and as far up as you can get. Key Arena sounds pretty crappy from most places, but this really made the recording boomy and distant. To improve the sound, I ran it through T-RackS 24. I cut the midrange a bit to tame the harsh sound, and employed a 50Hz low cut to deal with the cavernous sound. Personally, I think it improved the sound of the recording a bit without having to compress it to death. It's not my best recording by far, but it's one of the better sounding ones I've done in Key Arena. Maybe if they build a new arena for the Sonics (and for all the other great events they claim a new arena is necessary for) they'll pay more attention to acoustics. If they don't, I may move to Oklahoma City.

Thanks to all the other VH tapers. Here's to hoping that VH keeps touring into next summer and plays at the Gorge!

Seattle Show

Hi Criss,
I was at that show and it was a bday present for my girlfriend and we both thought it was amazing and I've been trying to find a copy of the boot. Are you interestd in a trade? I have Rush bootlegs from the past 2 tours?

Let me know.

Thanks,
Tom
