Van Halen, The night Cherone loses his voice

Here is a recording from August 13, 1998 at the Tweeter Center in Great Woods, MA. Cherone's voice gets blown out after they perform "Without You".

I was at the show. I can still remember after Mean St. the long pause before Eddie came out and spoke. I took it as hey I get to see a whole show tomorrow night plus 4 songs tonight, I was cool with it. The next night they kicked ass. Gary was great. I came away thinking can't wait for the next album and tour with Gary they were so good. Unfortunately it never came!

Although fuzzy, the mix on these is really good. It's nice to hear Mikey's bass and Ed's vocals in the mix more than usual. On the second "Without You," you can hear a guy yelling during the drumming intro "We've heard this song!" a few times. Hey, at least they got to hear it twice as we'll probably never hear it live again. Eddie is on fire again as he was the whole tour. Thanks Wanna hear the rest.
