These demos are awesome. They were originally available from being a member of the Van Halen fan club in the 1980's that is how they got circulated, same with the short 1984 San Diego recording. Act Like It Hurts, the instrumental is one of their best bad ass sounding tunes ever. A shame no demos have circulation from any other album session, as most of them are from before they were signed, or just them 5150 demos.

Hey Sucka,
I think track 3 should be Act Like It Hurtz (Unreleased Demo 1980 - WACF Leftover). It sounds like it's from that time period. Also It's the same length as the boot page says. The tune you have here is 5150'ish....I think I read it's not even a real VH song. I don't really know for sure but what do you think?
One other thing....why 2 Fools? the boot page only has only 1?
Sorry If I'm being picky but hey VH is my life!!!!

You ARE right, and I was waiting for one of you guys to catch it. Took ya long enough! Act Like It Hurts is the correct track, thanks for posting it by the way. As for the instrumental I put up, I heard it's some Finnish or Sweedish band. We had a conversation about it when it was first posted sometime last year. You can always tell a VH song by Alex's drums IMO, and that's cleary not Alex Van Halen. The guitarist does a good Eddie though as far as tone and feel goes. Regardless of it's VH or not, it still sounds like a fun song to play.
Nice job pickin up on it Andrew.

Far as I’m concerned, Eddie’s the complete package. Technique aside, his rhythm playing, feel, songwriting, tone, riffs, leads, man, it’s all there. It’s like the best-tasting beer you ever drank in your life! ~Zakk Wylde

Another note about the intro to everybody wants some is that it sounds really similar to one of the soundtrack songs from wildlife. I don't remember which one but it is really similar sounding.
Does anyone else think the same thing

Yea it does, and it also sounds similar to the Women In Love intro.

This demo is often mislabeled as "fresh" from the 1984 sessions. Its confirmed NOT to be VH although its not confirmed exactly who it is. I've heard the Swedish band thing too, but who knows for sure.
Tidbit of info: Act Like It Hurts gets its name from an int Ed did back in 1980. Ed is asked about any WACF songs that didn't make the album and he mentions Act Like It Hurts as one, but doesn't go into detail about it. Its unknown if Ed was referring to this tune or even if this tune was suppossed to be instrumental.

Cool sucka!!! That's what I thought. You are right about Al's drum sound. Some times Ed played to a drum machine (like on Donut City) but this one is obviously not the boys!
The only thing I don't understand is why 2 Fools? The boot page only has only 1? Where is the other one from?

It's from the same sessions I believe. I actually don't remember where the hell I got it from! LOL But I believe the first one is shorter then the second clip I have here.
