Re: July contest

I like the delay on the guitar, but I'm not so thrilled with the tone, which I find a bit to buzzy or “electronic” for my taste. I don't know if this makes any sense to you, and I hope you don't mind the flaming because I'd rather write somewhat constructive criticism than kiss people's derriere.

On the other hand the playing in itself is very soulful and skilledl! You sound like you're in charge the whole song.
Also the passage toward the end with the wah pedal is very timely and gives extra tension.

Too bad the end is missing. I don't knopw if you're aware of it...

Great work and thank you for submitting.

Re: July contest

Cheers...suppose it shows a different side than my 'Eddie'! I have so many favorite players...Stevie Ray Vaughan, Paul Gilbert, George Lynch, Doug Aldrich, Zakk Wylde, Steve Vai, Satch...and thats just this month! I never thought at 20 I would still be such a FREAK for guitar when I was 40...thank God I am!

Re: July contest

No problem CanyonCarver; lots of people remarked on the buzzy sound. I was just getting used to the Line6 and the main sample I liked was the rectifier one...I later discovered that the black front twin reverb was a scorcher but I suppose I wanted to get the thing to 'ring' out and the rectifier setting did that but I'd agree at times it came on a bit too strong. Thanks for the comments.

Re: July contest

Have you tried ripping it out with the Dumble Overdrive? Now that's a scorcher when you push it.
I played with that one on my Flexrtone II the other day, boosting it further during the blues solo by stomping on my trusty modified Boss DS-1. It was howling! Give it a try!

Re: July contest

Very nice easy listening. I really like that blusy sound you have there. I find it relaxing to listen to. The end is missing dude. Too bad though, now I can't listen to it.

This from the July Contest forum:

Note: Please do not add a poll to your submission, we have changed it. From now on we will close the contest a few days before the end of the month and have one poll with everyone's submission that you can vote on. Polls that have already been posted for July will not count.
