Winner - July 2005 - MP3 of the Month Comp.
Well, I can honestly tell you that every entry this month was fantastic, and that each entry was better than the others in one way or another. However, seeing that this is a competition and not a gallery, someone has to be deemed "The Winner." And the winner for this month was...
JOE KING
Great job, man. Your entry delivered excellent samples of your arranging skills as well as technical ability, and was educational as well (in the history of the song).
Verga showed stellar technical ability in recreating Jimi's legendary interpretation and Decosteonline & Goport's entries were rich in composing skills and creativity. Excellent work by all.

congrats joe,
hey I have 2 suggestions, for the contest.
1) when you post the actual thread that contains the poll, also link to each origonal thread by each musician, so that they can all be reviewed easily in the polls post.
2) when providing a winner in the final post provide links to the winners origonal thread.
I really love these contests, but think about it from the voters standpoint. if I want to vote, I have to hunt down all of the entries. and may miss one or 2. and if I didnt catch the vote, then I have to hunt the winning track...
so dont repost the song, just link to the thread he started.
I AM NOT COMPLAINING, just suggesting.
Joe I loved your song!! and I love you too KC!!

Definitely 2 good suggestions. This contest is for the members of this community, which is why the voting is done by everyone and not by some secret panel or whatever. Therefore, constructive comments like these help the mods make sure the contest is as fun and functional as possible. July's theme actually originated as an idea proposed by Verga, and next month's theme may end up being a suggestion from Goport (depending on whether Stiglar wants me to guest mod again this month), so I hope those are good indications that this contest is driven by the community and it's interests. So we will keep these suggestions in mind for future months.
