Has anyone ever tried to install 3 humbuckers on their guitar, like the B.B. King guitar from Gibson? And what kind of humbucker would be good in the center if you had a "warm" pup in the neck and a "hot" pup in the bridge?
Sorry mate, I wouldn't have a clue. I only know it would look cool, but I wouldn't have any idea as to how to do it. Hopefully Ej or Vintage_brat will pop in. I'm sure they'd have a better idea. Or axeshredder and the like. They've all been building guitars !
The Ace Frehley uses 3 Dimarzio USA Super Distortions Phil Collins Ibanez Destroyer used Ibanez Super 58's for Neck and Middle, then Super Distortion in the bridge.
Nothing really special other than looks cool, and a little more tonal capabilities

if you think thats scary, just think what youd have with 3 humbuckers that could split.. then throw in a series/parallel switch, phase switch, coil split switches....lots of combinations indeed.

I used to own an epiphone G400 custom with3 humbuckers. From what i can remember, the middle pickup was pretty much useless cos i already had the sounds i needed in the bridge and neck.
When I was gigging, I almost always played Les Pauls, I decided to get a Black Beauty with 3 buckers in it, and ended up hating it. The tones are pretty covered by the neck and bridge pups, and the middle one just seemed to get in the way of my pick.
