5 Way Switch Help

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to know if anyone has the diagram of how a 5 Way pickup switch is
connected internally.

In particular I am looking for an Ibanez RGT42FM (HH) switch. Worst comes to worst I will buy an ohm meter and work it out.

I can get the pickup wiring info from the Ibanez site but there is no info on how the switch is connected internally.

Thanx,
Ruben

Thanks Jalapene but I am not looking for the wiring diagram.
I want to know how the connections are made INSIDE the switch.

There is also a comment in the diagram SC(H-H)-1 but not sure what this means either.

Regards,
Ruben

Inside the switch should have metal contacts that are on each wire in the diagram. As you move the switch among different positions, the contacts are either engaged or not. The ones engaged should then open the circuit to the wire that is identified in th e diagram.

What esle are you looking for? The swicthes are fairly simple, not much going on inside. Do you have a picture of yours so we can better see what you are trying to accomplish?

Sure I'll put up a pic tonight. I am trying to install a Fernandes sustainer kit and their diagram has this whacky switch connection. See page 3 top diagram:

http://fernandesguitars.com/manuals/FSK101.pdf

They have a generic 5 way switch and I wanted to know if this is what I have or not before I hook up their sustainer and fry it. Their customer support wasn't much help either.

Here is the pic of my Ibanez RGT42FM guitar with the Fernandes Feedback system.

I had to have two caviities cut out. One for the battery and one for feedback system.

Man, you could have had this thing installed last night if you would have just said so! Just use their switch if it fits your guitar. Nothing is going to blow up...!

Well they did not supply a switch thats the problem.
Anyway I will get an ohm meter and figure out the internals of my switch.

OK So I finally got the Fernandes sustainer installed. I am attaching the diagram to show how switch internals are hooked up. I have also attached an mp3 of the sustainer. Ibanez RGT42 --> Fernandes sustainer --> Roland VG88 --> Direct To PC.

The feedback is done by the sustainer. It has a mode where it sustains the same note endlessly and another mode where it brings out the 5th harmonic of the note being played and sustains it endlessly. The clip was recorded at a very low volume with 5th harmonic setting.

I will soon attach the diagram of how the Fernandes system is hooked up.

Regards,
Ruben
