GGDGBD is one I found when looking up alternate tunings online a while back ... I tried it out and it had a really interesting sound. I'll probably try to compose something with that at some point when I get a better acoustic. (:
I think I found it here ...
I really liked what is described here:
..."The #6 and #5 strings, being tuned to the same note, have the tendency to phase in and out of frequencies with each other - creating a really big bottom-end, in the process."
Chord chart for some chords in this tuning...
http://www.alanhorvath.com/i_Gchart.php
*shrug* ... have fun. (:

Yeah I've played with DADGAD - it sounds great. The Elliot Easton tune "Walk on Waldon" was done in DADGAD. It sounds rather cool. Check it out. .

E A D G C F
D A D D A D
D G D G B E
C G C G C E
The last one, Open C I really like a lot

i always keep a guitar in DADADD tuning for playing My Sacrifice by Creed . you can get some cool stuff out of that . i also like the aforementioned Open C tuning CGCGCE , you can get a nice Danzi sound from that tuning ... dunno how you are meant to solo in it though hehe!

Very nice tuning, you can do some cool stuff, Peter Lang, if your familiar with him, used this tuning a lot, that is where I first discovered it. Since then I have found a lot of people using it, John Fahey to Jimmy Page. Maybe I can whip something out on acoustic and post it.

Of course, there's Top Jimmy by Eddie VH (DADACD) on the 1984 album. www.jfrocks.com has a good tab for this if you are interested.
