Bands
Interested to see what sort of band demographics there are here.
I am currently trying to put a band together. Got a drummer. Nobody else. Haven't had a lot of luck either. Still having fun though.

My vote was not in a band but want to be. What I really meant, is that I wouldn't mind being in a band again, but if it doesn't happen, I always have my son to jam with and BTs, so lifes pretty good.

I am trying to get into a band. Right now its just me and another guitarist. He's very cool, and always comes up with shit that makes me go "shit!!!". He is a monster. We need drums, bass, and a singer. But I know a singer, he knows a drummer and maybe a bass player. IDK. I'll let you guys know when we get shit rollin'.

Being uncomfortable around people is a common problem. You are kind of opening up in a rather personal way when you make music. It takes some practice being able to play with people you don't know. I recommend getting to jam nights a few times and playing with people as much as you can. Just bite the bullet and eventually you will find you are more comfortable with new people.

In a band, havent gigged in almost a year. We decided to change the band name (now "Mordus") and since everything we've written since our first cd is totally different then that music (the new stuff is darker & heavier), we took time off from gigging to finish writting new songs dump ALL the old ones. We are ready now to start gigging again under the new name & new atittude

excellent poll. I have been in many bands and ultimately it was not an inspiring experience. I have been playing for 20 years this year and I am now confident enough to realise my songs on my own. I have done the mileage and spent years bouncing ideas off of other people but now is the right time for me to do my own thing. Obviously I voted not in a band and don't want to be

I wish I could do the poll 4 times, because I'm in 4 bands!!! I am busy as all hell these days trying to keep everything straight. Luckily I play different instruments in 3 of the 4 bands, so I don't have to worry about crossing over ideas between groups. I play guitar and vocals in my main band (I say this because they are my favorite.) We are called AnneXodus and we wander around Illinois playing shows all over. I play guitar in DocSa and bass in a band that is yet to be named. My second favorite band is my Incubus tribute band where I DJ. We are called A Certain Shade of Green. I am totally loving playing gigs right now...I was a bit worn out for a while doing the gig thing, but I have breathed new life into my live shows and I LOVE playing live now. Being in 4 bands gives me plenty of shows to play!!! haha I would probably join more bands if I had time....

I was in a high school band... I wrote all the music/words/guitars & bass.. I had a blast but it ended after the 3 or 4th gig.
I wrote a book.. and I made a new thread for it
