Birdseye Maple vs. 1/4-Sawn Maple

Was wondering....

Anyone seen any tonal variations of Quartersawn Maple Necks/Board vs. a Birdseye Maple Neck/Board?

Or a Flat-sawn Maple?

Just trying to figure this one out for the never ending quest for the perfect wood for that custom guitar.

I wouldnt think it would make a difference in tone. That's just my opinion.

Yeah, I am building some guitars and I really like the way a nice birdseye neck/board looks with abalone inlays......

Thing is, I went through some lengths researching a certain 'tone' to a body wood selection and I just wanted to try and preserve that.

Only reason why I asked; I didnt think that it really made that much of a difference; it would be a flat-sawn maple, albeit of the 'western maple' variety as opposed to a flat sawn eastern/rock maple or a 1/4 sawn eastern maple.

I would think, in terms of brightness (from least bright to most bright), maple neck woods would look something like this:

B-eye/Flame Western maple - flat sawn eastern maple - 1/4 sawn east maple.

Again, very subtle difference is probably the change in tone.
