Can I put Amer. Strat neck on a Mexi Strat?

I have a Mexi strat, so it has 21 frets. I am not happy with this neck. Would like to find a 22-fret American Strat or Japanese-made neck. It should bolt on the same, but what about tuning? The string length is going to be longer by one fret, so would the position of the trem unit have to be moved (impractical)?

Don't quote me on this, but I believe that the 22nd fret on Fender necks is on an overhang, so the intonation and the length should all be fine....

They are both 25 1/2" scales and are a direct fit. You wont have any problems with intonation or anything else.
PS. both necks are made in the same plant. on the same machines.
