Converting WMV to MIDI Guitar Pro

Ok is this possible???
Can I get some software that will let me convert mp3's, wmv's, wav's to midi AND THEN import them into Guitar Pro so that it basically transcribes the music?
If so, has anybody here done that and recommend which software is the best?
As it is now I can download a demo of a program that does this but doesn't let me save it as anything!
I suspect that this WILL work and if it does would be totally AWESOME!
No more slowing down music etc etc.
Remember I am getting back into playing guitar after a long pause and maybe this question seems silly to you....but I am not tech. savvy!
I remember wearing out albums and cassettes trying to learn Freebird or whatever back into the early 80's when I was a teenager.
So maybe this is old news to some of you but I just "discovered" this idea this morning.
P.s. I turned 40 years old today.

I dont think its possible...the mp3's are way to complex and big for them to be shurnk to midis, but i dont know for sure

I would think you could use something like CDex to convert the .mp3 to .wav and then try the AmazingMIDI to go from .wav to MIDI.

Ok thanks! And thanx Fenberger for that link!

Here's where I'm at so far:
I take a mp3 file and convert it using Switch software from NCH Swift Sound software DEMO.
This converts my mp3 to a WAV file which it what Fenbergers linked software needs.
Then open up Amazing MIDI software and open the newly converted WAV file and convert it to MIDI.
Then open Guitar Pro and import the new MIDI file we just made.

But alas, here's the problem:
The MIDI appears to have been transcribed for piano chords playing VERY FAST! Yikes!
But remember! I haven't even scratched the surface of this yet and I think with some tweaking, there's some potential for this to work.
But I think it's gonna take some fine tuning and playing around with to work.
I just did one so far and haven't checked every setting yet.
But I did see a Mp3 get ALL THE WAY into Guitar Pro and that's a start!!!!!!!

If it were possible, that would be amazing. Sadly, in 2006, it is not possible.
You can get software that will *try* convert audio to midi, but in my experience the results are pretty bad. And that's just trying one instrument at a time.

Yes unfrotunately at the moment most of the results are pretty bad for this sorta thing , although it's definately doable theoretically we just have to wait for the technology to catch up with the idea .

The other problem i've found is guitar pro, the way it transcribes even actual midi files is questionable sometimes and you'll get really weird piano and chords and rhythms written out . Cool tool to get the idea of a piece though !
