DISASTER!
Got home tonight to find 4 inches of water in my garage...this is where I keep my gear and so I found the following:
3 VH guitars-cases and bottoms soaked thru
2 x 4 x 12 Peavey 5150 cabs-soaked
4 pa cabs-soaked
stands and other shit-soaked
Not good. I have a gig tomorrow and I don't even know if this shit still works as I've spent the last 4 hours pumping water out of the garage. God hates me.

Re: DISASTER!
Wow man that totally sucks. Hopefully you can save the guitars and electronics/speakers in the cabs.

Re: DISASTER!
Played a VH tribute gig on Saturday and it all worked! Just worried that the guitars may start to swell or whatever...I'll keep you posted.

Re: DISASTER!
hey wah,I own a carpet cleaning company that specializes in water damage.you should apply a antimicrobial to the inside and outside of your guitar cases to prevent the growth of mold or mildew.do this after they are totally dry.then if you have or can rent a dehumidifier place it close to your cabs for several days.then when totally dry apply antimicrobial to in & out of your cabs.the stands can be wiped dry.most important-the guitars.if there really soaked you would have to contact a pro guitar luthier as the water will expand and contract and cause serious problems over time.or turn it in to your insurance.I've dealt with similar situations thru my business, hope it all works out for the best, jethro

Re: DISASTER!
I hope you're keeping the guitars out of their cases for the time being.
I would hope that the finish on the guitars will have kept moisture from getting throught to the wood.
The only place I can imagine would be sensitive would be the joint between neck and body.
Maybe you can open all the access holes to the electronics and make sure that there is no moisture trapped in there in the form of conensation. I imagine that would also fuck up electrical connections if some kind of corrosion has taken place...
