Eddies Acoustic

I know he had a cheap Ovation acoustic guitar, which is the one he used on spainsh fly. But do you guys know the exact model of this guitar, i want to buy it or another one like it that is cheap and really low action, so i can play stuff like spanish fly easily.

Re: Eddies Acoustic

I don't know the guitar of Ed, but for my "el cheapo" acoustic guitar I cut some things away for a low action.

see:

I also did this on the neck side.....

But be carefull. Before you know it your strings run on the fretboard.....

Anyway, I hope it was a good suggestion.

Re: Eddies Acoustic

good idea, but knowing me and my acoustic, id never do that. though i want to build my own electric guitar, but thats another thing. in other words, id screw up my acoustic even more than it is messed up now.

Re: Eddies Acoustic

How's the intonation after filing that down siN? It looks like the bridge piece is replacable though and probably not that expensive. This way you can have a couple on hand in case you really hack it up.

Re: Eddies Acoustic

filing down the saddle won't affect intonation---unless it's a HUGE jump in height.

and next time you decide to modify your saddle---i'd take the saddle out, and sand it down. if you have a level saddle, the strings can go where they're supposed to. if you made the cut in the saddle even slightly off, then the string spacing will feel off.

also be very careful modifying the nut. a slight change can have you buzzing like there's no tomorrow.
