EVH EBMM Trem Bar question...

I think this is a pretty simple fix, but I don't know how to do it. I saw something on the "Wolfgang Report" back in the day, but can't find it and I'm not even sure it's what I'm looking for. Here's my problem....

I recently bought a slightly used EVH EBMM ('95 model) from a Guitar Center in Boston. The trem bar on the EBMM isn't like a Wolfgang Floyd Rose or a Floyd Rose orignal, it stays in the tremelo all the time (there is some little switch thing near the saddles that looks like it may release it). Anyway, the bar feels too "low" to me, meaning that I can't really press the bar very far before it's almost bottomed out. The tremelo is flush to the body, so it's not like it's sitting at a weird angle or something. Is there an adjustment on the underside of the tremelo to increase the pitch (angle, not 'musical note pitch') of the bar so that I can dive a little deeper? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all....

Re: EVH EBMM Trem Bar question...

I know what you mean, but have never worked on one of these. I suggest you remove the cover under the guitar and take a look-see. There has to be a set screw under the bar for removal and maybe even to adjust how much it sticks out from the baseplate of the tremmechanism.

Anyone else care to comment.... like someone who knows for instance?

my custom archtop wolfgang was like that and most think you cant bend the bar...but you can...put it in a vice and pull....youll be surprised its not as hard as you may think...good luck
PS....wrap the threads of the bar well with tape so you dont ruin the threads!!!

axe has the right idea. we have bent numerous trem bars to fit the players needs. The trick is, bend a lil at time. if ya bend too far and try to bend it back, it can become brittle. then your out spending 8 bucks or so on a new one.
