Fender VG strat?

Has anyone tried it out? I saw someone using it in my local music store recently and I must say the technology sounded great in it! I normally like analog effects and such but I mean the thing had such clarity I wasn't like " that sounds to digital". Has anyone had a chance to see how it works exactly? I think the emulations it does are great! I loved the idea of it having all those tunings you can try like drop d without even having to mess with a tuner peg!

Yeah! I tried one out. The tunings are brilliant and even when the string is bent it sounds just like it's actually tuned - if you know what I mean? It doesn't sort of jump the notes!

The guitar simulators are cool and the 12 string effect is stellar. One of the useful devices is that essentially it's an American strat - so if the battery runs out you still have a great guitar to play!

I think this is quite a cool idea and it definately works well. If you're like me though - I'm into classics and authentic vintage tone and this guitar can feel a bit gimicky. It's definately a cool guitar and idea - progress at least!

I think it would be great to have a squier version, that's much cheaper as I don't think I would shell out the cash for one of these Fender VG's at around £1300! It's each to it's own though so go try one out and see what you think.

I tried one and thought it was quite good but I prefer real guitars to modelled guitars even if I have to actually do the retuning myself. Basically if you want a digital guitar system get the Ronald VG 99 (same technology) and you will have far more flexibility.

Although the VG strat is good - the only advantage it has over the VG 99 system is that there are fewer cables and it is less complicated - Fender seem to be marketing the guitar as 'learn how to use it in 5 minutes'. The VG 99 will take you a month to learn fully.

Yea I thought it looked great. The tunings were the highlight to me, I never got to hear the pickup simulations(tele,humbuckers).
