Getting more stuff
I am about to run into some stock money from my company and I am going to invest into some new equipment. First on my list is a Yamaha elctronic drum kit, for those who may not know it drums are right up there next to guitar as my main instrument but I am out of shape and need to work on getting my metronome back. Once I am in shape I will post drum tracks for you all and take requests as well, as long as it's not HFT or something harry
Next is going to be a new keyboard, a Korg 01W F/D that I am buying used from my cousin. It's a real keyboard and I want to get out from under the cheapo student level one that I am currently using and give it to my son.
I am also considering getting a POD but I am not too sure about that yet as I am pretty happy with my Guitar port but we will see. Hopefully this will all happen here within a week or two

Re: Getting more stuff
Great news, Eric!
A drum kit sounds killer! That would be fantastic if you can contribute drum tracks. You know how much most drum tracks available online kinda stink...
I'm a closet drummer too, and I'm looking forward to hogging my son's drum set if that comes to fruition this Xmas...
Your first level synth sounded pretty good on the piano tune you submitted, but I'm sure that you'll get the killer patches from a better synth...
Spend the money wisely!

Re: Getting more stuff
What exactly does the guitar port do? Is it just like a pod? But smaller?

Yes it's a scaled down version from what I can tell. You can check it out here http://www.guitarport.com (when the link is working).

Re: Getting more stuff
I have a Yamaha SY85 which is pretty old now but good for most things. Now I'm not doing the Alice Cooper tribute (where I played keys and guitar) I'm not sure whether to sell it or not. Need to get my ass into gear about a Pod or similar...theres a VOX unit that uses a real tube that looks good out there...

Re: Getting more stuff
Here is what I am bidding on for a drum set on ebay. My final price is set but these things get nasty during the last few minutes so there's a pretty good chance I won't get it. You can check it out here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

Re: Getting more stuff
Ouch! pricy lol. I played a set of roland v drums on work experience a few years ago. It's cool how you can use different presets and make it sound like a totally different kit.
