gold hardware

will gold hardware tarnish over time, i.e. tuners, bridge? ive never owned a guitar with gold harware, the one i have now is stainless steel actually.
some one once told me gold was hard to take care of. is it? and some other guy from another forum said his gold tuners on his bass he has owned for 12 years have never needed polishing. feedback?

It all depends on the quality of the gold plating. Dont expect an epiphones gold hardware to look any good after a year or so. My epiphone sg customs hardware was VERY tarnished after a year or so.
