Hello there fellow Guitarist\'s. suggestion needed, 5 way switch.

I have this washburn guitar that's set up with the knob's and 5 way switch just like a strat, The problem that I have is when the 5 way switch in the neck pick-up position ,which is closest to where I'm strumming the string's, I'm always's hitting the switch into the next position by accident ,ruining the recorded take. Very frustrating .

I can't possibly be the only one in the guitar world with this problem . I've look every where I could think of for an after market 5 way switch that ether sit's lower or lock's in place some how. I haven't seen anything offered on this line.

I do have a real strat and the 5 way switch is located further away from the string's.

Thank You ! To anyone who can guide me to some thing .

hmm..maybe you could try strumming somewhere away from that usual strumming position? like nearer to the guitar neck or something

#! If your recording sitting, stand up and vise versa...lol
i know some player find it harder, but if you dont, it should change you position so you may avoid it without buyin a new guitar
#2...change the switch or tighten(somehow)

#3 bend the end of the switch so its angled a little out of the way...may tighten it this way ....*do at your own risk!...

#4 take cap off

Thanks for the reply's. I went ahead and bent it as you suggested . I don't think there was any alterative's for me.
It's simply the location and angle that Washurn chose to install this switch. I used two pares of small electrician's pliers to carefully bend it to a 90 degree angle. It doesn't look to bad at all.

Thanks for the suggestion's , Have a great day !

If you're only using 1 pickup for each take, you can tape the switch.
