HELP I BROKE MY WHAMMY BAR

I was in the garage jammin and having a smoke and I went down to do a ed scream on the G string and SNAP my bar went and fell to the body..I literally broke my bar ..it snapped where the top of the thread is where you screw it down into the bridge..now its not a floyd its a standard bridge on my OLP..how do i get this little piece thats stuck in the hole..its screwed in so i can just push it out like a floyd..and any ideas why it might of broke.. your going to have to take it in to someone proffesional i'm afraid .. the same thing happened to a friend of mine and don't think theres an easy way to fix it !

I hope there is some way easy to take that piece out or else it looks like i'm going to have to find a cheap floyd off ebay and bring it down the street to rolsguitars and have him install it for me..

(wipes forehead)....just got it out..what I did incase this ever happens to you, I drilled a hole with a drillbit..used a bit that was about half of the size which was left in the hole in the bridge...drilled about 1/4 to 1/2 way down into the piece that was stuck in there and then used a flat head screw driver that was the same size of the bit ..maybe just a hair bigger than the whole..got the screw driver into there and turned counter clock wise like I was unscrewing the bar from the bridge and it came out...THANK GOD!

there could be a few reasons as to why it snapped though seems a bit strange to me !

maybe you should get it looked over by rol or someone just to make sure ! [img]images/smilies/smile.gif[/img]

bomb tech...?More like shotgun to head cause i love my whammy bar...i was trying to play alittle bit ago and kept reaching down to drop the bar and hti the harmonics..but i can't

LOL I went through that too but now I have a guitar without one and I have to end shit on the right note. I used to dive my way out of those type of situations [img]images/smilies/wutblau.gif[/img]

it sucks right now i'm going to find a cheap floyd and have rol put it in for me..i can't stand not playing without a bar..

it works so well it's great ! i hardly ever use the whammy these days though

When i had my epiphone sg, i missed using a whammy. But when i sold it to get my rg i found out that i really dont use the whammy much! lol.

I do man..I love my bar...drop the bar on the G make it dump that string way down and then lightly touch the 5th fret to get it ready to scream and then hit a pinch harmonic on the 2nd or 3rd and make that mother scream...get chills just thinking about it..

Same here new halen, 3rd string harmonics are awesome. That's why I love my Wolfgang having a floyd cause I wanted to do that all the time on my old Ibanez, but it had a standard trem.
