Does anyone know of a website that has easy simple directions on making a distortion pedal?

I don't think there is a simple way to make a distortion pedal.

As electronic circuits go, there are few things simpler than a distortion pedal (except perhaps an A/B box or level booster)! They're little more than an op amp, a few resistors and a diode or two. I've even made pretty good ones without a PCB.

If you can wield a soldering iron I'd suggest giving it a try.

You can buy kits online that come with all of the parts, then you just get out the soldering gun and put it together.
