how do you record your music?
I run my guitar thru a morley bad horsie wah into a whammeyII to a pod xt to the board.then I record on acid 4.0 and edit with sound forge 6.0 . I play it all back thru a bbe sonic maximizer to th pa.just curious how other people record.I seem to do very liitle tweaking after its mixed.more slice n dice to get rid of dead spots.I seem to get a killer sound in my jam room before I upload stuff but the murderous compression of the internet really limits the overall sonic quality.peace, jethro

Re: how do you record your music?
In the past I plugged my Line6 amp straight into the Soundcard and recorded into Cakewalk 9.0...usually to a backing track that was a wav file rather than a midi file. I'd then do all the editing in Cakewalk and convert the finished piece into an mp3 with the Soundblaster controls. Job done.

Re: how do you record your music?
Well, I used to go straight into my Zoom 505 II pedal and out directly into my Soundcard.
Then, after discovering that it made a better use as a doorstop, I now go straight into my amp, then through whatever pedals I use (Hot Cake and an MXR Phaser at the moment) and then I have my crappy P.C. mike balanced on a little box about a foot in front of the amplifier.
Then I use Cool Edit Pro 2.0 (paid for of course ) to record my guitar wizadry (yeah right)...
At the moment, I really like the sound I'm getting out of the Hot Cake when I play my Kramer through it. If I can get my lazy arse to do something, then I'll record a few clips to see what you guys think.
How the flibbedy-flob I'll be able to upload them with my lack of bandwidth at the moment, may cause me a few problems...

Re: how do you record your music?
I'm assuming so. It's a French word. Just made me laugh, that's all...
Cuz my French teacher would have b*ll*cked me if I'd have spelt it like that...

Re: how do you record your music?
I have a new Fostex digital recorder..problem is the smart card media is too small..i need a bigger card...dont we all...but i do it the old fashioned way..Marshall head into either my 4x12 Marshall Cab or 1x12 Peavey Cab...for a less dirty sound i use the smaller cab...then SM57 mic into my Behringer Board...direct to the recorder...

Re: how do you record your music?
Guitar + whatever pedal (or not) + Line6 POD 2.0 + headphone jack into the Mac's microphone jack + Pro Tools + bounce to wav + compress to mp3 via iTunes = DONE!
I will also use a drum machine or backign tracks imported and converted to wav to work with Pro Tools.

Re: how do you record your music?
I use the BOSS BR8! It has all the guitar sounds I need with amp sims too! I can replicate an acoustic or a bass guitar too! It comes loaded with effects, too many to mention! All your standard stuff and more and very tweakable! I also run my Boss Dr. Rythm drum machine into it for some killer drums! I add some verb, delay, pan all the tracks down to two tracks then mix it down to the zip disk.
Whew!! Then I put the zip disk in the zip drive and use the program provided by BOSS to convert the two tracks to a wav file and then from there I use AUDIOGRABBER to convert to MP3. I am tired and I need a nap now!!!!

Re: how do you record your music?
I use my Behringer V Amp 2 Guitar processor,, Digitech wammy II occasionally,, Ibanez Tube screamer Ocassionally,, plus i have alot of other gear for guitar. I take what i uise go direct to pc and record in cakewalk music creator. I import midi files to it if i decide to use midi backings,, or mp3 backings,, then I encode my music with DbPowerAmp. thats all shre wrote. I record my backing first thena dd the guitar and mix it all.

Re: how do you record your music?
I do it 2 ways depending on the tone I want, either straight in or I mic my amp. This produces totally different sounds. I like cool edit for recording. I also added BLUE plugin to cool edit.

Re: how do you record your music?
mic my 4X12 marshall cab with an sm57 into a behringer mixer, into a boss BR-8. I have gotten a lexicon unit as of late and am waiting for a chance to use it for recording.
