I think i broke a knob!!!!!

As i was trying to take a knob off of one of my guitars, instead of the top piece comeing out the whole stick came out of the socket if you know what i mean. Now it goes back in but doesnt turn anything. Is this broken and has to be changed?

Can't say if I've ever seen that happen but if it did then yes, you will need to replace the pot.

Very easy to replace, and your local guitar shop or even Radio Shack should be able to hook you up with a new pot. Just draw a picture of how the wires are connected before you take them off.
