In need of serious help...Slide guitar, delta blues style
ok, guys, any slide players here? i have looked all over the net and cannot find a single GOOD lesson on this style of playing. I know alot of slide is done in open tunings, and i'm experimenting with open G right now, and have a few basic techniques to work on, but that's about it.
Any artists you recommend me to listen to would be greatly appreciated also. Right now i'm only really listening to Eric Sardinas and Johnny Winter.
Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt, Blind Willie Johnson, Tampa Red, David Lindley, Elmore James, Kokomo Arnold, Earl Hooker, and Mick Taylor, Sonny Landreth, and of course Johnny Winter

Ry Cooder. Yea Baby! Get a slide that fits on your ring finger so you can still fret notes with your other fingers. It is quite a bit of fun once you start in on it.

I've always worn the slide on my pinky; then fret the notes with the remaing fingers. I think that's the bets way to do it...
