In search of gear info for Iggy Pop's guitar player, Whitey Kirst...

Whitey Kirst is his name, and no one's really done anything on him in any guitar magazines. Kind of a shame, really, because the guy really brings it. Fierce playing and fierce tone. I saw him backing Iggy up in 1996, and he tore the roof off the sucker. Looked like a typical Les Paul/Marshall stack setup, but maybe someone in here knows of anything extra that he uses? Thanks in advance.

I agree. Still can't get the Neon Forest clip from the DVD (Live in Paris) out of my mind. Whitey Kirst lets it rip on this one. Magic.

hey guys
actually I was the bass player for the web of spider for the two years run we had, Wysey played that show because I was in italy as my mom was not doing well, whitey called me a week before and told me about the show.
Wysey used to live with me and Jerry cantrell up on outpost, me and wysey are still great friends, so when he played in my place it was indeed an honor as i think he's a great player.
whitey used just normal pedals and his sound is dirty like his feet, haha, no really, ask Philthy and he'll tell you the same, he's not that particular with sounds, he gets a lot of sustain going and strums it hard.
he had some guitars made with his name, he made about 3 dozens, good sounding guitars, some sg shaped some les paul shaped, I think there's a couple still laying around.
I hope this helped.
