Jimmy Webster - Father of Tapping Style


Found this on a geocities site. Some of you may have heard or read about this guy before...but its new to me, so I thought I'd share.

One of his recordings was done in the 1950s... "Fountain Mist" demonstrates one of the first songs featuring tapping (or 'Touch Style' as he called it).

The part at 0:33 seconds sounds a bit like the tapping part from "Panama", so THAT's where Eddie got all his licks from
