looking into a dean, got questions

over the years i want to acquire a gothic explorer with emg's, a dean ml either in black/gold or dime-o-flame, a semi-hollow of some sort and a steel accoustic.
however!
are the dime guitars with the duncan dimebuckers any good, and are the dimebuckers any good primarily, oh and what are dean's stock plated humbuckers like, they look good but i've never heard a demo of them or anything, only the open-coils and i don't seem to like open coil sound much.
anyway this forum rocks, hope someone's got some answers for me, y'all have a good day now! catcha later

Honestly, I would chose the Dime-o-flame. I have one and first it blows my Zakk Wylde epiphone out of the water. The dime bucker and and generic pickup sound great and I actually can get a pretty sweet jazz tune out of this bad boy. It almost sounds as good as my Les Paul with EMG 81 and 85. It has a more treble sound though overall and you can get a more metal sound. So if your into that you've got yourself a bad ass guitar.

nice man, thanks

i love the sound of emg's, but i'm not worried about excessive treble or anything cause i can just tone it down on the amp settings, i'm mostly looking for a pickup that can articulate well and a guitar that will age well and last as long as i can.... if i whack power chords i want that thing to stay in tune all day and instead of fuzz i wanna hear each string's note ringing perfectly amongst the rest, and feel them combine into a roaring chord. That i can achieve with an emg but that dime-o-flame is just so sweet... i think i agree with ya lol. I had heard alot of mixed reviews on the dimebucker in relation to bill's L500 version, so i was just double-checking that it wasn't a promo product with no performance to speak of, and it drives me nuts that duncan doesn't have a clip on their site.... i love the sound of their screamin' demons and live wire metals on the site but i tried a jb locally thinking it would be weak and it drove like crazy, so i don't know what to make of the website
anyway thanks for confirming for me, i'll get my job and buy that sucker as soon as i can! gotta take some lessons and learn how to play better lol, but that will be easier if i use a good setup cause i won't hear muck and think it was my fault.
anyway have a good day, i'm out, catcha later!
