good choice!!! And also, im very surprised we have gone 9 pages with no mention of Andy Summers of The Police yet! He was amazing in his time, not the fastest player around, but came up with some of the most innovative riffs of his time. Bring on the Night is still amazing to play to me. With Mark Knopfler, Im not the biggest fan of his solo work, but with Dire Straits, he was out of this world!! Sultans of Swing is an amazing song to play on guitar, especially the live versions from over the years, specifically the early ones. Another song that they did was called Down to the Waterline, and it is the form of Sultans of Swing, but very different at the same time. Brothers in Arms is one of the most touching songs of all time to me, especially the live version played at Nelson Mandela's 70th birthday party. Money for Nothing is still an ingenious riff to this day, always get a very large cheer when i whip it out at gigs. Those are my choices for most underrated guitarists of all time, in no particular order.
