I am looking for opinion on the best multi effects pedal. Any suggestions or experience to help me with the decision.

Multi-effects pedals
What's your budget, What kind of music do you play, What kind of AMP you're gonna use it with, Multi-effects pedal or processor??? Some of them comes with USB connector now so keep that in mind if you gonna do some recording. OK GOOD LUCK

I have one...GO FOR IT!! But you do have to make sure which amp you have. Reading the owner's manual, you find it only has setups for 2x12, 4x12, studio direct, or the Bose system. If you've got one of the Spider series with 1x12 you might wanna check with Line 6. The last thing you wanna do is fry your amp's speaker.
I use my POD XT Live thru my Flextone III's effects loop...I find that running it thru the front doesn't sound anywhere near as good.
And being able to connect it to your computer is just great...doing all the tweaking of your presets on the PC is ten times easier with the free Line 6 Edit program. Plus you can download Gearbox and subscribe to GuitarPort online and download backing tracks for songs, lessons, etc. all nicely tabbed out and they play back thru your amp so you can jam along.

I'm running a Digitech GNX2, I find it the easiest to program and operate.

How do you like your GNX2???. Would it be possible to know what AMP do you use with it?? Are you using it thru effects loop or between guitar and the Amp?? I have GNX2 but I'm not using it much because it colors the sound of my Fender de Ville. I tried using it thru FX loop but it creates a lot of noise and hum. If you can, could you PLEASE share some GNX2 tips on how to use it better. THANK YOU KAIN.

I like it a lot so far. Is your output set for direct in? I don't run mine into an amp, it's direct in on my computer for recording. Try this to see what you're using for your output parameters:
1. Press the UTILITY button. The UTILITY button's LED lights indicate you are in the UTILITY section.
2. Using the FX MODE or RHYTHM button, scroll to the left or right until one of the following target listings is displayed:
DIRECT- for direct to console applications
INPT1X12- Instrument input of a 1 X 12 combo amp
FXLP1X12- Input into the effect return of a 1 X 12 combo
INPT2X12- Instrument input of a 2 X 12 combo amp
FXLP2X12- Input into the effect return of a 2 X 12 combo
INPT4X12- Instrument input of a 4 X 12 combo amp
FXLP4X12- Input into the effect return of a 4 X 12 combo
3- Rotate the DATA WHEEL to select the type of amplification system to be used.
4- Press EXIT to return to the GNX2 presets
To further avoid sound coloring, set the EQ to zero cut and boost. Also try using it without an amp model and cab model. If you have more questions feel free to ask away eh?
PS- Read the owner's manual thoroughly! You'll gain the best understanding of the effects and their parameters that way!

??? what?
there's no way to fry an amp's speaker through the use of an FX processor... so don't worry. absolutely safe.

Ummm....mcnach, I hate to say this but you CAN fry the speakers. I know this from experience.
I had a Crate 2x8 amp once, and I bought the Digitech GNX3. In the setup menu, there was nothing for 2x8, so I went with the lowest setting which was 1x12. Even at low volume outputs, the speakers were destroyed in about two weeks. Those little 8 inchers couldn't handle the frequency response.
I recently came close to destroying the speakers in my Line 6 2x12. I used a preset in my POD XT Live called "Crusher" and the lows had my speakers buzzing slightly. I immediately adjusted the lows before I did anymore damage.
So yeah, it can happen. I'd like to see what happens when you run an XT Live thru a 15 watt, 8 inch speaker practice amp. I like mine well done, waiter..........

Then I'd susect it wasn't the GNX3, your playing is just tew metal for one hand!

Hmm...could be. I know I tried keeping the output volume from the GNX3 waaaay down and I never turned the doomed Crate up very loud, either.
It wasn't all that old, and I was told it was a matter of being unable to handle frequency respone.
But I like the "tew metal" excuse better...

I use a pod Xt, which i adore...but my son hates, he uses the Behringer V.amp as a rack mount unit, costs about £120.00, the desk top version is cheaper still and I have to say it's the puppy's nuts, not a pod xt which is of course the puppy's mother.
hope this helps, the thing about effects products is that everyone has there favorites, I would go check em' all out, and screw the grunt behind the counter that grumbles at you for keeping on asking to try them out, it's your money your time your the customer.
be well my friend
