Name of an effect?

There is an effect on the song Stricken by Disturbed that I don't know. It's right at the end of the solo. The guitar like is this sound thats playing in the rythem of the verse. Like 4 or 8 bars or watever. What kinda effect is that? I think its pretty cool sound myself.... ...anyone know what I'm talkin about?

to tell the truth man, i think he's just hittin up some harmonics around 2nd or 3rd fret, doesnt sound much like an 'effect' to me
