Hey guys I am looking for a new axe and would like your opinions. I really like the LTD Alexi Laiho signature model, but am not sure it is worth over a grand to me. I am not buying it for the name. Don't get me wrong I like COB and Alexi is a great guitarist but that is not why I am looking at it. First off I LOVE the looks of it. In black or white it just looks badass. Also it is a neck through guitar, has a Floyd Rose original, ebony fingerboard with awesome inlays, etc. The main reason I haven't just bought it is the fact it only has a single
bridge pickup and it's a passive EMG at that. Now honestly I play metal and rarely use a neck pickup anyway but I have heard of some that love the EMG HZ's and others that trashed it immediately for an 81 (something I don't want to do on a brand new $1000+ guitar). Please give me your insight and opinions. Thanks.
