please help me with this

i have played the piano for years and want to learn how to play guitar. i want to start out with an acoustic guitar, and want to get this acoustic guitar that eddie uses. what kind does he use? also, my aunt and future brother in law can give me lessons but what are some other good things to do as far as learning. good , videos, books, etc..
