ArizonaBlues is on a distinguished road

Practicing with a small PA

I've got a friend that uses a very old PA that is hooked up to a CD player. He has hundreds of backing tracks and the PA gives a more authentic feel practicing with backing tracks when the sound is as big as the sound from your guitar. He isn't knocking down walls, but he is getting a nice full sounds from the backing tracks.

I use my stereo and sometimes my PC. It is good, but not the same as my friend's PA setup.

Anybody use a setup like this? I'm thinking of buying a portable PA and trying it out.
