PRS Mark Tremonti guitar???

i've been seeing these in musician's friend catalogs for a while and was wondering if anybody has one or has played one... i would like to know what kind of quality i could expect out of one of these... being PRS, i would suspect some good quality... it looks like a nice "les paul" knock-off and at the price could it be better than an "epiphone LP"???
thanks...

Re: PRS Mark Tremonti guitar???

I was looking into getting one of these awhile back. I'm not sure if you're talking about the US Tremonti, or the Korean made one. I know you can get the Korean Tremonti for about 500 bucks on ebay if you can catch a deal. I heard they're decent guitars, but I've never actually played one before. You can check harmony central and see if they have reviews on it over there. It looks like a pretty rad guitar I think.

hey ya'll...
i've been gone for a while, good to be back for a little bit...
like what you've done to the place, but i'm LOST trying to navigate around...

i finally picked up the PRS Tremonti SE back in December 04 and have been taking serious lessons since feb. 05 and coming right along...
i got the black one, and it is absolutely incredible, but i'm thinking of selling it to get a crate stack or possibly a stoptail wolfie... the PRS is alot like a gibson LP but WAAAAY lighter... i love the way it plays, but i always seem to go back to the wolfgang i have...

...Dave

Hi Dave,
I also own a Tremonti SE and LOVE IT!!!!
I found the stock pickups to be a little harsh, so I replaced the bridge pickup with a PRS Deep Dish II. Now it's a TONE MONSTER!

The bodies are a little thinner than the US Tremonti and they're made of mahogany (I believe). It's really light, which is nice if you have to have a guitar hanging off your shoulder all night at a gig.

I STRONGLY recommend that you hang on to it as PRS has discontinued production on these as well as ALL of their Singlecut guitars due to a pending lawsuit by Gibson. This may also be why prices on USED Tremonti SE's are climbing. I bought mine new for $399.

Please take my advice ... KEEP IT!

Good advice, I learned a long time ago, if you can afford it, keep em all.

I hear you about the Wolf Dave.....I have enough guitars to start my own store and no matter what....I tend to just feel like I am slipping into a old pair of shoes when I pick up my Wolf STD. Its the asymetrical neck and the fret size I think.

Welcome back....your services are needed on the farm!
