Question for all you 5150 combo owners

I just read that in the early VH days – Eddie used Marshall 4x12 cabinets equipped with two Celestion Greenbacks and two JBL D-120s.

As you know, the 5150 2x12 combo comes standard with Sheffield speakers. I’m just curious if anyone here has replaced their 5150 combo stock speakers with Celestion Greenbacks and what the result you got.

One of our very own, VHFans.com guitarist extraordinaire, Guy Sclafani (Guy882000), plays his 5150 combo through a Marshall BC (4x12) cabinet with Celestion Greenbacks and nails that VH tone perfectly. I thought that I’d throw the question out there, as replacing two speakers it could be a more economical approach to achieving “the tone”. Thanks in advance for your comments.
