3" long X 2 3/16" wide X 5/8" deep and dead flat.
Drill out as much wood from the pocket that you can without going too deep or wide before you start the rout. It will make it easier on the equipment and you while at the same time you'll end up with a cleaner more accurate pocket. Dont take too big o bites (or it'll taste shi$$y )
Thanks Badams, I was just getting set to route a neck pocket and was wondering about giving it a slight angle. For some reason the las two guitars I built needed a small shim. I used a warmoth neck on one and a Eden neck on the other. I'm gonna route this one flat a see how it turns out, using a fixed bridge this time instead of a trem.
