Love Cooder's work for ages now. And indeed, guy can play anything mentioned before...perfectly.
Produced many of his own studio albums, number of soundtracks. Produced albums for great number of other artists (still does that, e.g. Mavis Staples - We'll Never Turn Back from 2007).
It amazes me that people above the age of 40 know, eventually about the "Bop Till You Drop" album (" I Think It's Going to Work Out Fine" track was popular at the time). And that's all. Younger people generaly have never heared of him.
But when you see his biography, people that he played with, music produced...everything about him in general - it's like guy is intentionally avoyding spotlights and popularity.
He is usually mentioned as a "slide guitarist", which is a huge understatement.
I consider him one of the greatest artists/persons of our time.
