Re: umm help!
Ok, umm I took off all the tape, and i kinda cut some of that copper wiring around it. So i tried to put it in the other guitar but it wont fit in. and i cant figure out how to screw the pickup onto that metal piece. hope this helps.

Re: umm help!
oh, man!!! that copper wire is the soul of the pickup!!! once you cut it, the pickup is no longer useable (for all practical purposes)... i guess you could rewind it by hand, but i have never done it myself, so don't know what to tell you... looks like it's time to buy a dimarzio super distortion... it rocks in my "shark" replica... Why would you do something like that? Go rinse in under water, remove all the copper wire. You may need to chisel some wood off the guitar to get it to fit. No prob, if you screw up, you can always reglue the saw dust back in place Disregard. Don't do the above.
If you ARE serious, rewind it or buy a new one. It's probably easier to buy a new one, but Ed rewound his... Something to think about.

Re: umm help!
if you choose to rewind it make sure you coat the exposed copper wire( after you wind it all) with a thin layer of parafin wax.or you will have dogs 20 miles away howling from the feedback.I tried adding more wire to a pickup once, your better off buying a new one.

Re: umm help!
LOL you aren't an idiot dude, it's an easy thing to do if you don't know what to look out for. I've trashed a couple of them in my day but wouldn't dare try to wind it myself, if you can just replace it dude.

Re: umm help!
how do you rewind it? I'm getting a great new guitar soon. Thinking of buying me a wayne. But it would probably take a month or 2, 3 to get it. I need to fix this problem.

In the interest of respect for your fellow guitar pals, if you decide to put the broken hunk-o-shit on EBay, warn us so none of us bid on it
