What guitar should I buy?
I've been playing for about two years and I still have a cheap Kramer that goes out of tune every 5 seconds, literally. I really need a new guitar and considered getting a Fender US Strat until I started taking lessons, yesterday. My teacher has about 26 guitars and says I should probably get an Ibanez because they are the most versatile. I don't have $2000 to spend on a Jem but I'd like something with two humbuckers and a single coil, and tremolo of course (gotta have the divebombs and stuff). I was thinking about one from the RG series.
I'm interested in playing everything; metal, jazz, blues, rock, shred, neo-classical, and lots of other stuff that probably doesn't even belong to any genre. I could probably spend up to $1000 but a cheaper guitar wouldn't hurt, as long as it's good. Any suggestions?

Definatly go with an RG or S series, i prefer the RGs better mainly for looks but the S has a super thin body and is lightweight which is a plus.

Ibanez makes the best guitars at the entry level, good quality for dirt cheap!

It's a Kramer Focus 1115, lol. It's the cheapest guitar ever made. My mother bought it thinking that I'll quit playing guitar after a week, like I have done with most other things.

But which one from the RG or S series? Is a Jem555 good?

It depends on what you want to spend. The JEM and Satch guitars are around 1,000 bucks or higher.
RG and S models are usually under 1,000 bucks, range anywhere from 300 to 850 bucks.
Its all part of preference. You dont need to buy an expensive guitar to know that it plays well. Ive played the RG and the JEM and i really cant see much of a difference instead of the pups. Find a few guitars you wanna look at then try and find them and play them before you buy them.

If you have the money available I think you should go with a JS 1000. Because it has a rounder C-shaped back to the neck. Unlike the all of the RG's and most of the S series guitars which have the thin U-shaped. I have a JS and an RG, and both of them are good guitars, but sometimes I have difficulty reaching certain areas of the neck comfortably. I also at one point had a Kramer Focus, and the feel of the JS is closer to the feel of the kramer as far as the necks go. Good luck making your decision.

i'll say Ibanez as well.. I haven't seen any old school Ibanez guitars in any music stores in awhile.. I got my Ibanez RG770 back in 89 and that cost me $1100, then another $120 for my dimarzio pickup.. now i see Ibanez guitars for $400 new but they aren't the same, the feel different... But they still are nice guitars without a doubt.. My buddy just started playing guitar so we went out to get him a guitar and instead of getting the squier strat like the guy at the music store told him to get i found him a mint used Ibanez RG370 for $299 in Black..
There's something different about the new necks on them, my Ibanez has the original Wizard neck which feels smaller in your hands when you're playing it.
