I remember seeing all kinds of guys that were in ads in guitar mags during the 80's that would fall into this category. I guess a lot of them become irrelevant as the cruel music industry changes and "guitar heroes" are less appealing to record execs.
A good example : I was reading over at VHForums where somebody mentioned they talked to James Lomenzo from DLR's band and was with
White Lion back in the 80's. He mentioned that
Vito Bratta had given up guitar and was selling real estate in New England. it's totally a shame, but I guess when you are restricted to a particular genre of music by your talent, that kind of thing happens to players often.
