I got my buzzsaw die-cast. £19.90 postage and import fees for an item worth £0.19!
Well, multiply that weight and size of the diecast by 10 for the guitar, then multiply the cost by 10. Whoa! You could be looking at £200 by the time your guitar arrives!

357 comes back and says they can't deliver on the guitars, and that they were free with a purchase of other items. Since they were free, once they deliver the items that were purchased the deal is done.
That being said though, the deal never said "limited supply of guitars". It was said that every order would get a guitar, so hopefully it will come together in the end.

you guys should stop over on BLS.net, things are getting fairly heated over there about this whole subject. Chokeu2 has been keeping us up to dat ewith the phone calls that EJ was talking about a few pages back. to put it lightly, Chad Dyer does not come off well and he is now currently posting some fairly ****ed off messages.

Daniel, the owner at 357, insists that he is working towards delivering guitars in May. He cannot promise, however he sound sincere and appears to be honestly working on this. Chad is out of the picture and Daniel advised Chad does not speak for 357.
He wants to focus on getting orders fulfilled, and moving forward to get everyone the goods.
I know this is a very tough time for everyone, but Daniel is really asking for a little more patience. I know this isn't what we wanted to hear, but at least we are getting info from the top brass at 357, and not hearsay from Chad.
So with that being said, please try to refrain from contributing to the debates flying around, and let's give Daniel a chance to make things right. Choke did a great job getting us in touch with him, so let's see what happens.
If you are really having problems about not getting the guitar, Daniel is offering a refund, HOWEVER let's really try to make this work so we can all move on.
Thanks

Anyone that doesn't want to have to wade through the slickdealsthread, I found the post for you here (after a bit of searching).
I'll quote it here too:

If I miss something, there is a very strong chance that one of the othe guys can back fill that information. This call was nearly two hours long, so I may not dump it all at once.
That being said, you may not like what I have to say for a couple reasons. It is going to be enough to convince you to stay in the deal, get out, or say that it still is not enough information for you. All reactions are perfectly fine.
So with that being said, I'll get started.
First, Daniel was pressed time and time again to get himself to personally make a statement on the status of the deal as represented by 357 Customs. Unfortunately, Daniel was unwilling to make an official statement. He absolutely insisted that if I have a question or concern that I could call him, 30x a day if I needed to. So there you have your answer on the official word flowing from 357 Customs. It is not going to happen at this time.
Next, we are to "negate" whatever Chad Dyer says about this deal, period. He is not to speak on behalf of 357 or this deal. He also again, contradicted much of what Chad has said thus far. That is an issue that we can beat ad naseum, but it is not worth doing at this juncture.
The only new information that we were able to get out of the call is this:
1. ALL MP4 players have been ordered.
2. NOT all of the guitars have been ordered.
3. All "orders" should be filled by next Friday. An "order" is your "die cast" and your "gift certificates", NOT guitars. 357 is sticking to the "free" guitar line... (another topic of discussion because this is their "out" if they choose not to fulfill) If you do not have your "order" by next Friday, send an email to the same email address that we've been told to use, OVER AND OVER again. Roll Eyes
4. Daniel would not commit to saying when the guitars would all be ordered, period.
5. Daniel would not address where, or what the money for the orders was used for thus far.
6. Daniel would not state why all of the guitars have not been ordered yet.
7. 357 will NOT be paying the VAT or brokerage fee on guitars for our overseas friends, nor would he issue a declared value
8. Daniel would not comment on where the "hold up" has been in this process, despite being told by Chad that Epi was holding the order up, or that EMG sent out defective pickups. His reason for refusing to state where the "hold up" was the "SDMF" ethos, or honor code... Thinking
9. Zakk did not endorse this deal, nor does he know anything about it, at this point...
10. Chad stated that those who have been "supportive" of him and 357 would "rewarded' for their loyalty". Which inferred some sort of prize, or "extra" for those that have been quiet. Daniel stated that is patently not true, and that he is not "rewarding" anyone with anything. I believe this statement has been removed from .com
11. He would not address why the credit cards were charged prior to the items shipping, and offered no reason for the issue.
So that is a summary of what we now know. If I missed something, I think that the guys will be able to help.
So before you harp on me saying that I've got nothing new, and you may be right; realize that the situation is what it is. The VERY FIRM stance of 357 is, IF YOU DO NOT LIKE IT, CANCEL YOUR ORDER. Daniel made that VERY clear. We all pushed for him to take more of an active role, and for him to be more forthcoming, but this is all we could get right now.
Remember, it was not just me on the call this time. We had two of the BLS.net mods, a mod from guitars101, and a respected member who has been involved; all on the call. They heard what I heard.
So what is next? We are going to figure that out. We do not want to tell everyone to bail on the deal, but if you're that upset, then it is your only option. If enough bail, then the deal will die. We obviously do not want that.
357 was not hesitant about telling you to get your money back if you do not like it. Thats that. They do not know, and will not guestimate when the guitars are coming. The MP4 players SHOULD start arriving next week if what Daniel said is true.
We can only tell you what he said, we cannot force him to do anything. You are now armed with some more information on which to act accordingly. You know that the guitars have not all been ordered, you know the MP4's have, among other things. You also know that Zakk does not know.
This is what is referred to as "**** being stirred up" over at zakkwylde.com. Take it for what it's worth...
Way I see it (again for what it's worth) we can either:
1) Wait for as long as we feel is reasonably acceptable, and then pull out of the deal, and see if at that time, a refund is still possible
2) Pull out now and attempt to get a refund now
I'm gonna stop in on it as I dreamt I received the guitar last night, along with having a haggle with the UPS guy over the import fee (£54 in my dream). Why the hell my brain couldn't realise I was dreaming and thus not make me pay for the guitar is beyond me !
Anyway, it filled me with a little more optimism that the guitar will ship.
Then I came online and read this new **** storm !
But I'm gonna hang in a while longer. They've delivered everything but the guitar so far, even with a heck of a delay. I reckon they'll pull through.....e-v-e-n-t-u-al-l-y...
Just wondering what you guys take on this deal is ?
I'm reading so much **** about it, that I must admit to becoming discouraged and may just pull out and get my money back.
Only thing that has stopped me so far is how gutted I will be if I do and then you lot start posting pictures of you with your guitars a while later followed by a collaboration of Ozzy Covers from all of you who got in on the 357 customs deal.
I'd discuss this over at the forums at zakkwylde.com but such a post will result in me being called out as not a true BLS member, I'm in it only for the money, or that I'm somehow breaking the rules or insulting Chad.
One thing's for certain, I wasn't in it for the chopper or the certificates.
Also, slickdeals is such a source of misinformation, I find it counterproductive to visit there.
Just wondering what's keeping you guys in on the deal and how close you are to asking for a refund. Just some reassurance, that is all. What with Daniel providing "official" word to a select group of disgruntled customers, coupled with the unsavoury results on a google search on his name, as well as the fact he has supposedly discredited Chad as the official spokeperson, I'm coming to the point where I'm wondering whether to get my money back. If I then popped it into even a standard savings account and waited the 3 million years until my interest had accumulated enough so I could buy a guitar outwright, I feel that it would yield a guitar to me before 357 can.
Daniel is trying to get the orders fulfilled. I am seeing a lot of negativity regarding the outcome of the call earlier this week but if you can hold out, then you might as well. The cost was minimal, and that money would have been long gone spent elsewhere even if it is lost to 357, so your chances of getting a good guitar deal are still better than 50/50.
I am more optimistic now than I was a month ago, but again, this is only my opinion.
I think 357 is fully aware that this is becoming serious to the point of potential legal action against them and the people involved, and no one wants that.
Zakk looks like a complete ******* becuase he has shown absolutely zero interest in helping his fans out. I cannopt beleive that of all the people in his little world, that no one has informed Zakk of what is going on to his fan base or what they are feeling.
Mondo, I think you mentioned before that you already paid this off on your credit card, which is the wisest way to go. For those who were carrying this balance, yep, you are getting screwed on the overall cost.

At this point, I see things pretty much like EJ. But what I have done different, is that I have stopped visiting and reading all the threads on the subject since the conference call.
My life is all the better for it. Mondo, I recommend you keep staying away from slickdeals, where everyone is spinning their own drama. There are a lot of people who like the attention they are getting at SD and I don't need to spend my precious time reading their drivel.
I'm holding on to my order, I have received the chopper (a piece of garbage, I might add, but besides the point) and consider 357 having shown good faith and a resolve to get things in order.
I guess I am just a little frustrated in the lack of professionalism in the way this whole thing has been handled. It pains me the way that Chad deals with people on the official site and constantly redefines his involvement with the company to suit.
On top of that, the way that the top man is dealing with things and the lack of an official annoucement is also a frustration.
But I guess I need to decide whether this frustration is worth pulling out on a good deal, because frustration born from poor communication is all it boils down to.
I hope that Daniel is true to his word, I truly do. I'd love for the time when we all have our guitars and are recording some heavy riff driven collaborations on them, it's just that I can't see that that time is anywhere near us at this moment in time !
