The idea of circles is ancient of course!
There is no copyright for that.
To put that on an guitar is not new too.
But maybe the idea of the tow is the same, if you look good, you see that they are very different (number of circles, centre, color, angle).
For me, I like the Zakk (duh, I own one!), the other is nothing special to me.

I think I read that Zakk originally put the bullseye on there so people wouldn't think he was trying to take Randy's place by having long blonde hair and a cream LP. He wanted something to make him look different... And what a hell of a job he did!

Also, on Zakk's am i right in saying that the circles come from the bridge pickup? Those ones come from between the two pickups

Yea,
they're not 100% same geometry, but the idea is the same. Just an observation.
It does not really matter. Both guitars kick ass!

I think it looks cooler coming from the pickup...looks like the circles are like shock waves or something...works better in my opinion

I read that the idea for the bullseye came after people in the crowd kept throwing beers at him on stage. He gave them a target. It was zakk or ozzy's idea.I saw it in a guitar world magazine.

That would imply Zakk was willing to have his guitar getting banged with beer bottles. I think that was probabaly some BS someone might have been spouting for the article.

Sorry to re-direct the subject a bit, but does anyone have the Epiphone Zakk Bullseye? Is it a decent player or no comparison at all? How do the Hz pups compare to the 81/85's? Just curious.

I have one.It plays great. The pick ups on the other hand sound great for recording but playing thru a half stack they feedback some when your not playing, but alot of pickups do that.I bought mine new with a hard case for $600 out the door.on a ten scale I'd say its a 7 and a half.

Thanks...I've been considering getting the affordable Epi version but I wouldn't be happy if the pickups were weak. I like my Epi LP Standard as a player but the factory pups suck big time. Thought I'd slap some 81/85's in it soon.

I had one, but eventually took it back becuase the gold was easily rubbing off and the "antique white" was so yellow that it looked like a fucking bumble bee! Playability was great and I gigged with mine a couple of times
