Zoom GFX-1 Patches
Hiya guys and gals,
For an early pedal I got a good deal on a zoom GFX-1 and the stock patches are rather poor for what I am looking at doing.
Does anyone know any good sites with user submitted patches for this pedal or one of the related zoom pedals, which I can then translate to this one?
Cheers
Pete

Does anyone other than me actually own and use this pedal??????
If so what do people think of it and its versatility?

I've got this. I've had some luck using 505II patches found on the net (do a Goole search and you'll find lots). The setups are similar, althought the GFX-1 has a few more options.

How are you finding the pedal?
I personally am enjoying using it and am working my way through trying to create several different patches.
For the money I got this for, I think this is a damn good pedal.

It's a great pedal. I found the it's best when you make your own patches. I was suing thru a Traynor tube amp, so the patches had to be quite a bit different from the stock ones, and different from what you use thru headphones (mostly less bass).
I got a G2 as a gift, and I've been using it more. Seems the sounds are a bit better, has a drum machine, a few more tweaking options. I guess my GFX-1 will be on ebay soon!

Glad to hear your are enjoying it too.
Mine is going through a Peavey SS amp so its not got the issue of having to set the patches up for tubes as yet.
I found alot of the stock patches to be unusable for me at my stage of playing and anything I have tried tends to be lost in the mess of distortion that is most of the patches.
Thanks for the advice on the 505II patches. I will look into them and try them out on the weekend.

hey
Now I am seeing this thread. I have been looking absoultely everywhere for patches on the gfx-1. I see patches for all other zoom products, but not this. Why not? I have the g 21.u too and i think, although the gfx-1 is cheaper, it's better. I had a great price for mine too. £25 with adaptor, woohoo. Thanks for the advice on the other patches

Hi to everybody,
I also have this great unit, and have to questions to You:
do You connect the unit to the clean channel or distorted channel of Your amp?
do You have some Van Halen patches?

Dino,
You would normally connect this multieffect pedal to the clean channel of your amp.
You can connect it to overdrive/dirty channel of your amp BUT if you add the extra distortion from the GFX1's Drive section then you run the risk of there being so much distortion that your sound becomes really quite poor.
What you can do is to just use the GFX1 as an effects pedal (minus any drive) and have the patches set up as you like, e.g. a nice chorus or phaser, or autowah etc.
The best thing to do is experiment and see what sounds like you best.
Cheers
Pete
