Hey guys! I'm new here, obviously. Anyways, I love Eddie(he's my fav. guitarist). I wanted to share some music of mine with you all. So, here goes nothing....
*Note- second solo on beat it played by my friend Rob.

Re: Beat It and Crazy Train
There's a whole transcription of the Beat It solo in this month's edition of Guitarist here in the UK. I don't know if it's sold anywhere else.
I just picked it up in WHSmiths yesterday. It has Jeff Beck on the cover and Eddie is pictured with his stripey Wolfgang slung over his shoulder. It's also got some other cool lessons including one from Richie Kotzen, how to play like Gary Moore, and several others.
A good issue !

But I really need to improve on my tapping, because I can't play this solo to save my life !

Re: Beat It and Crazy Train
It's cool, the CD has a backing track for the solo as well as the full backing track with a guy playing it over the top.
It's given a 3 out of 5 Intermediate rating.
In the notes it says, "Van Halen solos are always easier than they sound, because Eddie uses familiar phrases"
It is in the magazine because they have introduced a Classic Song ( Queen's Tie Your Mother Down) and a Classic Solo section.
The guy on the CD says something like, "To launch the Classic Solo section, we thought we would throw you in at the deep end with Eddie Van Halen's solo from Beat It... Talking about in at the Deep End, I've now got to play it for you, thanks guys!"
And with that he launches into it, playing it spectacularly well for such a modest, low key introduction.
I, on the other hand, am still having difficulty with it.
