Love that tone mate-it's fucking killer! Drums sound a bit messy at the beginning but if thats you just using the keyboard jazz set, I know how dificult it is to do stuff that you can't quantise. If it's a backing track, the drummer was on opium! Good work mate.
i think they make it sound messy with those cymbals like eric said to get that old jazz record sound ....
but yeah it's a fun track ..
the static at the beginning is really annoying !
but for some reason sometimes when i encode my files to mp3 through cooledit it just whacks that on the beginning ! .. i hate it it does it all the time .... and i tried making it a wav and then encoding some other way but it does the same thing !
I think the thing is that you have to put something there, like just start the recording with a metronome and let it do a 4 count then start playing. That or you can try to insert silence in the beginning.
If it helps I saw some shareware software today that said it would de-noise a lot of stuff that was done on Cool Edit...I was searching (with Google) for some bass tracks in .wav form that I could use and this site was showing it. I'll have a hunt round for it. If I have noise like that and its at the beginning or end of the track, I do a linear fade-in or fade-out in Cakewalk or I edit the track by converting to wav and chopping the offending bit off...
